“Sup big guy, Your mum has told me a lot about you,” I tell the young one as I shake his hand: finally met her son. He is a lively one, full of life and an innocent smile that will heal your soul. “Mum says you are heaven-sent,” he utters with a soft cautious polite tone. I stare at Jackie with suspicion. What else have these two been talking about behind my back, I wonder! Chuckles, I happen to come through at the right time. Let’s get in and eat.” I usher them into the restaurant.
We find a comfortable spot and settle in. The place has a fine fancy exterior view that gives a Chinese feel from lighting to furniture. Chinese art paintings hang center on the walls from the entrance point to as far as my eyes can reach.
As we wait for our meal, the kid nibbles on one of the cookies given as a courtesy gesture. He seems to be in his world. “Why are you staring at him like that?” She asks with bewilderment. “He is an interesting kid locked in his world: that is precious,” I reply calmly.
“ Mummy…” he suddenly calls out. “ What’s wrong Marcus?” she questions in a concerned voice. “Daddy,” he says pointing at the entrance.
