“Let me first talk to her, my friend Lydia. And Alfred, I will sit next to you,” we part ways as I get in.
She moves over to share pleasantries with an old acquaintance. A silent walk through an aisle to find a chair, oh sorry, two. I gently move to the front. “Excuse me, sir! Right over there.”Turning, I see a chocolate colour!! An usher with tamed natural hair, black earrings, a blue maxi, pumps and a heavy signature necklace.
“Within you is a light that spurs because the spirit of God dwells inside of you,” I hear as I try to talk to the young lady.
“Thank you. I came with my mum. Please lead her to my seat.” My whisper is soft but clear. We part. As I sit, she walks back to the entrance.
“We seek to know ourselves through reading the word of God. Matthew 19:26 shows us that we alone can’t find solutions to our problems. But through the spirit of God, we find our way,” the preacher artistically speaks calmly with a pinch of vigour..”
Looking on my left, She is in church.
