#Afictionalstory
“Hey, remember when I told you that I was perplexed,” I speak with a light tone. My mind sound, and a sense of clarity drains my guilt.
Our conversation closed any chance of us not being anymore. My last text gave me a nostalgic memory of her first day at the reception.
“Next time you cheat, don’t say,” he bluntly states as he works through a task he has been trying to finish for hours. Bewildered “Cheating!” “I don’t cheat…” declared innocently. “Whatever you said made me think,” asserting, his left hand reaching out to a blue file. Grabbing it swiftly, he opens flipping pages, hardly trying to trace.
“It wasn’t close to that,” I admit wisely. With a clear mind, I wash my doubts to clear my guilt. That response I received made me realise how bad it would have been if I hadn’t got back to my senses.
“In that case, I am glad you are treating her right.” Speaking with little attention, he notes with a few words with hesitation.
