It might be U 47

#Afictionalsstory

I park at a distant location from the unit. It’s been months since I closely monitored the operations. I usually receive reports from the “runners”, a term I came up with while drafting the plan for their formation.

Every hand-in comes with a few challenges that I kept ignoring til today. I came to see the infrastructural deficiency because it kept reoccurring in every submission. The request for a renovation was a concern raised on every occasion.

I walk towards the first unit with keen observation. The structure stands firm with a faded exterior. I can recognise a runner from afar.

One can see the child school kits. The tools all seem to be in good condition. The country has been very receptive over the years. In a year, parents continuously come to our units to make purchases for every school re-open despite the intimidating price that comes with every kit.

At my arrival, a young lady whose name I forgot smiles.

“Hello…”
