I am staring at a bird making a nest in a tree across the road. I can’t help but wonder if it ever gets hard intertwining the dry grass: I guess that’s a mystery one will never know. I came across a book about yoga and spirituality. I picked it up on one of my trips to the supermarket. The title read “Soulful yoga”. I found myself reading a few pages and an epilogue. It intrigued me that I decided to take the book. I was so excited to get back home and read it. It was the first item I gave to the cashier. I have been reading the book today when I couldn’t read anymore. I decided to walk around my neighborhood. I am wearing a hat because it’s shiny outside. It’s agitating to walk in the sun. The heat penetrates deep inside your skin. On a hot day, one would rather stay inside or swim. Maybe go to the swimming pool or a beach. It would save me from the cruelty of the sun. Thinking of water has reminded me of my childhood. I was always excited when it rained. Fascinated with rain pours, I would run out to play only to run back at the sound of thunder.
I walk straight to the first grocery store I see across the road. A young woman sits behind the counter. “She should be thinking of her next customer.”I assume as I get closer to the store. A young girl runs to the store. Her mother hastily walks towards her child. “Stop running, watch your steps.” She warns with controlled frustration. I observe as I come close. It seems like the child wanted a cold soda. After hesitation, she finally gave in. “You won’t have it your way next time,” she tells her daughter as they leave the store. “It seems like the little girl couldn’t rest until she got a soda!” “Sure… She even cried. It was soda, a sweet one next time. Kids!” the young lady responds with a smile. “Are you from a round here?” she asks causally. “Yes, I live from within,” I answer. “My name is Belinda. You can call me Bella.” she introduced herself. “Good afternoon, Bella,” I greet with a smile. “Good afternoon, sir. What can I get you?” “Oh, sorry, a cold soda.” “Over there,” she points to the refrigerator. I quickly head on to grab my favorite drink.
